We love Singapore!
Glad so many of you had a wonderful time yesterday. Here's our video highlighting some of the best moments from Pink Dot 2011. Thank you for making this happen. Thank you for standing up for a more open and loving Singapore. Till a bigger and better Pink Dot next year!
* We've gotten some feedback about the balloon-releasing that happened this year - thank you. We'll take extra care to remind everyone that balloons are not to be released during future Pink Dots.

ReplyDeleteWhat's the problem with the released balloons?
ReplyDeleteThumbs up!!
ReplyDeleteFrom various sources, I've noticed the encouragingly positive trend of attendance from Pink Dot 2009, 2010, and this year event.
For Pink Dot 2012, you may want to consider to have the event at a larger place than Hong Lim Park. :)
Pink Dot Events (2009, 2010, 2011): Yes, it's more than an excuse to dress in pink!
releasing the ballons are like littering.. it will eventually burst and fall on the ground as pink litters.... lol
ReplyDeleteballoons are fine if managed properly
ReplyDeletelatex balloons rise to about 8 km where they expand, freeze and shatter into very small strips which are dispersed over a very large area
these then biodegrade and are not known to cause any environmental concerns
the problems occur when you attach string or other weights to the balloon so they can't rise freely
so feel free to release balloons but not with anything attached
